Sarsaparilla
Sarsaparilla, also known as Smilax spp., is a perennial climbing vine native to tropical regions of Central and South America. The root of the plant is used for medicinal purposes. Sarsaparilla has been traditionally used to help improve skin health and to help reduce symptoms of eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions, it is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties. It is also traditionally used to help improve respiratory health, it is believed to have expectorant properties and may help to reduce symptoms of bronchitis and asthma. Sarsaparilla is also traditionally used to help improve immune system health and to help reduce symptoms of infections such as candida and fungal infections, it is believed to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. Sarsaparilla is also believed to have diuretic properties and may help to increase urine output and reduce symptoms of water retention.
