Pau d'Arco, also known as Tabebuia impetiginosa, is a tall evergreen tree native to South America. The inner bark of the tree is used for medicinal purposes. Pau d'Arco has been traditionally used to help reduce symptoms of pain and inflammation, it is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties. It is also traditionally used to help improve respiratory health and to help reduce symptoms of asthma and bronchitis, it is believed to have expectorant properties. Pau d'Arco is also traditionally used to help improve immune system health and to help reduce symptoms of infections such as candida and fungal infections, it is believed to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.
